growing up, the house i lived in with my family was haunted, the second floor in particular it seemed, which is where i had my room. when my door was open, it always felt like somebody was watching, or listening. sometimes shadows would pass through the hallway. i could see them clear as day. i don't know how many there were, it could just have been one, but they touched my hair from behind a few times. one day after school, i attempted to climb the ladder on my bunk bed, only to be dragged down onto the floor. i wasn't pushed from the front, i was pulled from behind and landed on my back. surprisingly, this didn't hurt at all. it wasn't even that scary. i felt as though something had pulled me down and let me land softly on it. almost like a game. one time the lamp cover fell down from the bathroom ceiling and landed in the sink. the angle was off. it should have hit the floor instead. another time, my stereo, which was turned on and off by adjusting a little lever, turned on and started playing my cd while i was downstairs. i was home alone that time. the lever had 4 settings. from top to bottom: cd, am radio, fm radio, off. i always turned it off while i was done using it, and i did it fast too, because i didn't want it to accidentally stop at am radio, due to the fact that i was, and still am, scared of radio static. i've always felt like i could hear voices in it if i listened closely enough, and that was not something that i wanted. things moved around. fell off shelves. the cats seeminly hypnotized and then sent running, frightened by someone i couldn't see or hear. the stairs creaked. one of the cats died in 2018, the other in 2023, but by that time i had moved out. my parents told me that when she was weeks and days away from death, they could both somtimes feel the presence of the cat who had died in 2018. they could feel her jumping up next to them on the couch, most likely to calm her mother, the cat who was still alive but in declining health. this stopped after she had died and they were reunited.
me and my childhood friend used to play around in an old house that her family stored old stuff and car parts in. we cleaned up an area on the second floor, put some curtains, a table and a couple of old car seats in there. from what i can remember, we never noticed anything strange while we were in there, but from the outside we could sometimes see someone standing by the window, looking down on us. she grew up in an old house, just like i did.
i spent a lot of time in the basement of my ex boyfriend's mother's house. we had a room there. a bed and a tv on a little shelf. no door, but it was fine, except when spiders got in. someone died in that house. sometimes there was knocking. the dog reacted and started barking and growling at things i couldn't see. one morning after breakfast, i went down into the basement to get a pair of socks that i had hung there to dry the previous day. the laundry rack was right next to the landry room with a built in hallway and storage room. the door to the laundry room was slightly ajar. suddenly, from what i guess to be the very back of the storage area, i heard heavy, angry sounding steps heading to where i was standing, and quickly at that. i took my socks and ran. i did not want to face what was on the other side. there was nobody else in the basement. my ex was upstairs and his mom was at work. he went into a psychotic episode while we lived there. he claimed that there was an actual living man in the basement, hiding out in the walls and hallways. he didn't believe in ghosts at the time. i think it was just a spirit.
there are several spectrums that we as people can exist on. some see only the things that are clear. for convenience, we can call that existing on the "home spectrum". some can speak to spirits. some can se into the future, or to places where they have never been, and view these places at many points in history without having to be physically near them. i believe that this is due to spectrums. the dead can move on them. animals too, likely, but most of us people can't communicate with them effectively, so it's difficult to find out. how individuals see and interpret things depends on which spectrums they're currently existing on, and where. i myself wander both my home spectrum, of course, and the one that spirits most commonly exist on. that's how i have been able to see and feel them. i believe that the dead can more easily cross over to other spectrums, as they are not tethered to anything physical in the same way as you or i. some peope reject their capabilities to wander more than one spectrum, out of fear or convenience perhaps. it is when you open your mind that things start to happen, and you begin to accept them for what they are. it seems that certain rituals, such as those involving a ouija board, makes crossing over easier. in my opinion, it is not necessarily just the spirit that comes to you. instead, you meet halfway. people who can receive messages directly from divine beings also exist on several spectrums. if you are one of these people, be careful. evil creatures may lie to you and take advantage of your openness. don't believe everything you hear in your head without critical thought.
it seems to be accepted as fact in paranormal circles that some people, after their deaths, are unable to cross over to the afterlife, or their new home specrum (see above) due to a traumatic event or something left unfinished or unsolved. some of these people seem to be left wandering around in the middle, either angry, distraught, or looking for help. these people are able to be helped by someone who can communicate with them, and help them let go of whatever it is that keeps them where they are. sometimes multiple sessions are needed, but this is usually not an issue. then there's another kind of spirit: the one stuck in an event loop, likely related to their death. maybe they had an argument with a loved one, which ended badly, and right after storming out of the house, they got hit by a car and died, being forver unable to apologize to their loved one? this may trigger an event loop. the spirit would relive the scene until their death, over and over again, their memory reset after each time. an event loop could theoretically go on forever, even if the environment the event first occurred in changes, and the other person or people involved die. it is harder to reach such a spirit. i belive that their range on the spectrum is much more narrow than the other type of spirit's would be. someone very competent must meet them where they are in order to set them free. this is probably easier if the other party is still alive and present, or if the medium has managed to contact them from the other side, and bring them to the person stuck in the event loop, in spirit. this would allow for a conversation to happen, and the conflict to be resolved.
first, someone with the abilities of a medium would have to acquire a spiricom, or build it themselves. then, they would have to establish contact with a spirit who in their lifetime had similar abilities. when consistent contact has been established and the electronic voice phenomena (evp) has been tested out and is working as well as it possibly could, scientists and the press need to be gathered. this is when a complete stranger to the spirit, the medium, and everyone else involved will be brought in. if the spirit can tell them verifiable and correct information about this person, the existence of the spirit world, the afterlife, and the survival of the soul when separated from the body, should be proven beyond reasonable doubt.
